Travis Jr. was ordained a Deacon Sunday

Can you believe it?? Our oldest doesn't attend primary anymore. Travis Jr. was all grown up and handsome as he walked up to shake the bishops hand in sacrament on Sunday. I had to fight back the tears a bit. I'm so glad Heavenly Father sent Travis Jr. to be my oldest son. He's such a good example to me. A great son, brother and friend. What a blessing it is to have him in my life. His dad gave him such a beautiful blessing yesterday in the bishops office. I was glad Kelli and Brandon were able to be there to witness him being ordained. Such a great spirit filled the room. Look forward to many more special events.

The boys received a new puppy for Christmas. They named him "DOC". He is a Golden Retriever, and just adorable. It's so cute to see all the boys with the dog. They were so happy when he was delivered on Christmas Eve. We just hung out Christmas day and did alot of sledding, eating and shoveling. We have a ton of snow. We had such a fun visit with Troy and Anne. We look forward having Kelli and Brandon come tomorrow with their kids too.

Gingerbread House

A couselor in the RS dropped a gingerbread house kit off for the boys a few days ago. First, it made me think of what wonderful people there are here in the valley. We have received so many acts of kindness since we have moved here nearly 2 months ago. There are just good people everywhere.

My parents owned a ice-cream and candy shop in Nampa, Idaho many years ago when I was 4:) Through the eyes of a child I remember the gingerbread houses that were on display in the store. My dad would let us butter up our hands and help pat the hard candy out on the steel tables. After the candy hardened my parents would put the candy in these beautiful wrapped boxes for people to buy. Every year during the holidays my parents would load up the kids and deliver special boxes of candy to family, friends and nursing homes - sometimes we would even sing Christmas carols:) We would always travel to Oregon or Utah during the hoildays to spend time with grandparents and cousins. If there was snow we would sled at Grandma Jacobs. I don't remember a Christmas when there wasn't snow in Vale, Oregon. During the the Christmas holiday I'm so thankful for family, friends and our Savior Jesus Christ. I'm grateful for parents who took the time to create life time memories....memories that will be passed on from one generation to the next.

The boys were really cute and excited to make the gingerbread house. Even the older boys got into it. Children make everything more exciting!!

Merry Christmas.....

Trav's Birthday Party Friday night...fun in the Snow on SATURDAY

Friday Trav invited a crew of boys over to celebrate his 12th Birthday - He planned the whole thing. Got the invitations together, organized the football game...that's what I'm talking about:) Doesn't take much to entertain 12 year old boys. What a bunch of nice kids. Trav had a fun time....always fun to make good friends!!

Last-night it snowed...snow is so magical to kids. I remember my dad pulling us behind the truck on a sled many years ago. We tied up a tube to the van and took a few spins today. I love this time of year!!

My poor baby boy - we had a crazy day Thanksgiving morning. Aiden did a face plant on a cement step at my sisters house in Enterprise, Utah - He was so brave when they stitched him up. He's getting better each day.

Well, we went to St. George Utah for the Thanksgiving holiday - we had such a great time with my sister and her family. They are such a fun bunch to be with - we went fishing, hunting, to a soccer game, to the sand dunes and even had a trip to the emergency room with Aiden on Thanksgiving day. It was a great time minus Aiden's accident.

OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parents need to "play offense" - to capitalize on the impressionable years of childhood by instilling in their sons the antecedents of character. Their assignment during two brief decades will be to trasform their boys from immature and flighty youngsters into honest, caring men who will be respectful of women, loyal and faithful in marriage, keepers of commitments, strong and decisive leaders, good workers, and secure. And of course, the ultimate goal for people of faithis to give each child understanding of scripture and a lifelong passion of Jesus Christ. This is, I believe. the most important responsibility for those of us who have been entrusted with the careand Nurturance of children.

Christmas In Elma!!

We left for WA the 13th of December - I barely made it to Seattle to hand the kids over to my Dad and catch a flight to Atlanta where I would join Trav for his company Christmas Party the next day. Trav and I had a fun get away and were able to do a little Christmas shopping. We stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday and flew back to Seattle Sunday morning where we stayed until January 3rd - We were able to catch a Elma Boys Basketball game. The boys thought it was really cool looking at all the family(uncles & aunts) names on the walls before you entered the Gym doors. Michael and I went and Chatted with Coach Nadau one afternoon. It was so fun spending time with family and friends
