Jacobs Reunion 2010

So, we packed up the van July 19th and headed to Wallowa Lake in Central Oregon. Every 2 years my mom's family gets together and camps for a week. Like I have said my mom is 1 of 10 children. This was the first reunion we have had since my grandfather passed away almost 2 years ago. We missed him dearly - just wasn't the same without him, but my 86 year old grandmother pulled through and came up to camp for 4 days. We counted around 150 family memebrs in attendence. Always fun to spend time with my BEST cousins - we are all super close. I have some wonderful Aunts and Uncles - we always pick up where we left off ... share stories and sing around the campfire of days gone by.

Zach and Caleb rode with us to the reunion - nothing like a van full of 6 boys!!!!The last night we hit the big St Joseph Rodeo about 10 miles out of camp. Growing up we always attended the 24th of July Rodeo in Vale, Oregon - my grandpa loved the Rodeos...
The boys had fun rafting with Grandpa Mark, fishing with the cousins, playing basketball, go-carts, and the rope swing down at the river....can't forget the traditional races...aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews run and give it thier all.....love that good JACOBS BLOOD!!
In the picture above I am holding my youngest cousin-not nephew, but COUSIN. My Uncle rick who is 2 years older then I just had granchild #58. Always fun to sing around the campfire - and the Jacobs tradtional talent show is always a big hit.
Before the big trek Trav took us up to the Dixie National Forest camp grounds - the boys are all CRAZY like their Dad and enjoyed jumping from the rocks....esp. Aiden!!

Good Things to Come

Last Saturday Michael, Aiden and I ran into Elder Holland and his wife at the gas station here in Enterprise. His wife grew up in Enterprise and they were here for a family reunion. It was just him, his wife and 2 other people in the store. What a cool experience to shake his hand and visit with him for a bit - neat experience for the boys as well to speak to an apostle of the Lord - I felt his love as he spoke to us - what an amazing man - he is one of my all-time favorites!!!

Joseph, Angela, & Jake come to visit......

Loved catching up with Joseph(Trav's younger brother) his wife Angela and adorable son, Jake. We had a great visit with lots of laughs - we love you guys - really enjoyed our visit!!

.....catching up

We celebrated the 4th of July on Monday the 5th. The community put on a great program at the school in the early morning- fun runs at the park later on in the afternoon - had 4 familes over for a BARB-Q later that evening and enjoyed a firework show put on by my brother-in-law Brandon that night - fun filled DAY!!
Smiling really hard that these boys belong to my husband - wouldn't really call Trav the cowboy type. Loved the rodeo -something I always enjoyed attending as a young girl in Vale, Oregon. The boys had a great time - Tanner even caught a chicken during the games in the arena - doesn't get much better than that:)...when we arrived home Aiden had Michael's boots on - he really wants his dad to buy him a horse...:):)
Aiden and I went North for a few days and hung out with Trav while he was working - we played during the day and enjoyed having Trav to hang out with in the evenings.....Love that KID!!

OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parents need to "play offense" - to capitalize on the impressionable years of childhood by instilling in their sons the antecedents of character. Their assignment during two brief decades will be to trasform their boys from immature and flighty youngsters into honest, caring men who will be respectful of women, loyal and faithful in marriage, keepers of commitments, strong and decisive leaders, good workers, and secure. And of course, the ultimate goal for people of faithis to give each child understanding of scripture and a lifelong passion of Jesus Christ. This is, I believe. the most important responsibility for those of us who have been entrusted with the careand Nurturance of children.

Christmas In Elma!!

We left for WA the 13th of December - I barely made it to Seattle to hand the kids over to my Dad and catch a flight to Atlanta where I would join Trav for his company Christmas Party the next day. Trav and I had a fun get away and were able to do a little Christmas shopping. We stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday and flew back to Seattle Sunday morning where we stayed until January 3rd - We were able to catch a Elma Boys Basketball game. The boys thought it was really cool looking at all the family(uncles & aunts) names on the walls before you entered the Gym doors. Michael and I went and Chatted with Coach Nadau one afternoon. It was so fun spending time with family and friends
