Happy 15th Travis Jr.

Another year older - 15 years old, can you even believe it?? Trav turned 15 on December 8th. He had a game down in St. George - was 9 of 12 from the foul line...he ended up fouling out with 2 minutes to go
but what a way to celebrate the day. We went out to Sushi after his game..then to Walmart to pick out a gift with the gift card Nana and Papa sent...reminds me so much of his dad - great leader...so helpful - Still remember the day he was born - it was Christmas time...living in Elma....we were so grateful to have a son & the sweet spirit you always have brought into our home. Trav was asked by the varsity coach to travel with the varsity team to Nevada this weekend for a tournament...we love watching you grow...love when you pick Aiden up and hold him in your arms...Love ya Forever & thanks for BEING YOU!!

Giving Thanks...

"As we pause to thank Him for the blessings of the past year,
we must not forget to thank Him for the lessons we have learned through our difficult times.
We are not to be thankful for just the pleasant, easy things, but ALL things."
[Millie Stamm]

Had a wonderful Thanksgiving - my brother Luke and his family came for a week from Seattle and also had my brother Matt's kids from Las Vegas and St. George. My parents, Kelli and her crew and even had Marty(Brandon's brother) and 2 of his daughters join us for dinner this year. We are in deed grateful for every single one of our family members near and far away - we love the memories we are creating and treasure the Thanksgiving Holidays of days gone by. Lots to be thankful for....

October to Novemebr...

Aiden turned 7 on Halloween. We had a party for him right after school. There is a old building here in Enterprise called"Heritage Hall" that they use for parties and such so we had it there. He invited a bunch of friends. Aiden is a lite in our lives. He is loved dearly by his older brothers and brings so much sunshine into our home. We are so glad he is ours. He was excited to go to Walmart and shop with the gift card that Nana and Papa Dougherty sent. It didn't take him long at all to find a BYU football helmet and jersey that came together as a set....love when you find just the perfect gift. Thank you Nana and Papa.

My parents moved to Enterprise a little over a month ago. They are preparing to serve a full-time mission & wanted to come spend sometime with all these grandkids- we are enjoying every second we have with them and treasure their goodness and love. The pictures below were of Trav's last HS football game as a freshman...he started basketball Monday and really is loving that.

After Aiden's party we went to my sister's house and went tricker-or- treating. Travis, Michael and Tanner all went to parties while Aiden & Kinley went for the candy. After the boys got home from their parties they busted out the wigs and dress-up clothes. Kinley wore my old clown suit and looked adorable. Aiden was "black" spiderman.

I had to snap a picture of Michael at the last HS football game. Some how he got the school camera and was able to be down on the field. Michael was asked this week to be the head manager for the Varsity HS Basketball team - he is excited to travel and be part of that experience.

We love this time of year to remember all the things we have to be grateful for ~ we are looking forward to Thanksgiving and hold all of the memories that we share with our loved ones close to our hearts.

Tribute to a WINNER!!!

Tribute To A Winner

A winner is a man who can persevere in the face of all adversity. He walks quietly with true humility and maintains his sovereignty with calm pride. He boasts not of his victories, yet accepts readliy his defeats. He has tenacity of purpose, devotion to God and devotion to his family. He never believes he can be beaten, yet never seeks an excuse if he should.

A winner never loses sight of his goals, never stops striving, no matter how large it might be. He is quick with praise, yet not fickle. He inspires, he leads, he works, he sweats, and bleeds and cries, but Never quits!!!

A Winner will attempt the impossible, Challenge the odds, and achieve the improbable - never understaning his opponent, but always expecting him to do what he himself would do in similar circumstances.

A Winner may never achieve his ulitimate purpose, but he will Never Give Up.
Whatever pinnacle a Winner may reach, he will never be satisfied, nor will he lose sight of who got him where he is and so....

He lives and dies WINNING.

I remember reading this poem when I was a young girl and had to post it because it reminds me so much of Travis Jr. and his desire to do good. Trav broke his Patella(his knee cap) and tore his Medial patellar retinaculum ligament a few months ago. We were so excited last week when his Dr. gave him the "ok" to play. He had only been practicing for 2 days and his coach started him in the J.V game. He is so fun to watch. The pictures below are from Friday night during the Varsity game. We loved watching every move he made - we are so thankful for him and the blessing he is so our family!! Great work #12.....

Tanner's 6th grade football team finished up last week. Tanner had a really fun team and enjoyed playing this season.

Michael #81 plays for the league championship this Friday. He's worked so hard all season and all that hard work is paying off. Good luck, BUD!!

Aiden loves attending all of the boys football games. He loves watching and cheering for them all. He is a little "go getter". We love these boys - it such a fun time in life to watch them grow, progress, learn and become stronger. They have some great teammates and the other parents are so fun and encouraging.....love it!!

Trip to Salt Lake....

Early August we made a trip up to Salt Lake to see Trav's brother and his family. Christopher, Eliza and Reese, it was so good to see you guys. We love that we can just pick up not matter how long it has been since we have seen you last. Thanks for fitting us in your busy schedule. Love the laughs, smiles and chats that keep us going...until next time. Hope to see you again soon. Give that beautiful Reese lots of hugs and kisses from all of us in Enterprise. We love ya!!

OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parents need to "play offense" - to capitalize on the impressionable years of childhood by instilling in their sons the antecedents of character. Their assignment during two brief decades will be to trasform their boys from immature and flighty youngsters into honest, caring men who will be respectful of women, loyal and faithful in marriage, keepers of commitments, strong and decisive leaders, good workers, and secure. And of course, the ultimate goal for people of faithis to give each child understanding of scripture and a lifelong passion of Jesus Christ. This is, I believe. the most important responsibility for those of us who have been entrusted with the careand Nurturance of children.

Christmas In Elma!!

We left for WA the 13th of December - I barely made it to Seattle to hand the kids over to my Dad and catch a flight to Atlanta where I would join Trav for his company Christmas Party the next day. Trav and I had a fun get away and were able to do a little Christmas shopping. We stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday and flew back to Seattle Sunday morning where we stayed until January 3rd - We were able to catch a Elma Boys Basketball game. The boys thought it was really cool looking at all the family(uncles & aunts) names on the walls before you entered the Gym doors. Michael and I went and Chatted with Coach Nadau one afternoon. It was so fun spending time with family and friends
