ENTERPRISE – The Enterprise football squad’s new faces are also its old faces, as former players have now returned to help the team build on its 2014 playoff appearance. The Wolves enter 2014 coming off a 5-5 season with a first round playoff loss to Gunnison. The upset home loss to a team that went 4-7 threw the Wolves for a loop, but they still want to build on that postseason experience going into this year. “Our numbers are up and our enthusiasm is up higher than it has been in a long time,” Enterprise head coach Malin Williams said. The bump in enthusiasm for the program has brought back several seniors to this year’s team who didn’t play last year, but did play in years past. Among them is senior Zach Koopmans, an offensive and defensive lineman. He had ankle injuries as a freshman and sophomore, which led to him choosing to sit out his junior year, but now he’s back and reinvigorated for football. “We have a lot of new guys this year from past years that no one’s seen,” Koopmans said. “We have a really good line this year — defensive and offensive. I think we’ll be pretty good in that area.” Williams said senior running back Kelton Hunt should have another big year after rushing for 1,371 yards and 22 touchdowns in 2013. And like Koopmans, Williams said the improved offensive line will help in that area. “Everybody knows about Kelton Hunt, our running back,” Williams said. “He runs so well, but we’re also able to block for him. We have great linemen to block for him.” Another impact player, who plays on both sides of the ball but stars on defense, is senior safety Conner Phelps. “Conner Phelps is a heat-seeking missile,” Williams said. “We have a lot returning. We had a good feel last year, and we want to build on that. We have more experience this year.” Junior running back Michael Dougherty said the players who re-joined the team this year have renewed the enthusiasm among all team members. “It’s looking pretty good in the preseason,” Dougherty said. “We should have a pretty strong team this year.” Enterprise will run a Wing-T offense this year, utilizing a triple option offense similar to what the Hurricane Tigers run. “It’s been a pretty new offense so we’re trying to build on it,” Dougherty said. “We’re trying to go along and trying to build upon that offense having more people come (back to the team).” Enterprise opens the season at home against Diamond Ranch Academy, so the biggest challenge for the Wolves, they said, is simulating the speed they’ll see on Friday. “They’re very athletic and present major challenges,” Williams said. “You never know who they’re going to have, but they’re always athletic. It’s a hard first game for us.” Williams said he likes the matchup because both teams are complete opposites. He said the Wolves want to run, while Diamond Ranch wants to pass. Dougherty said the matchup of opposites intrigues him as well. “They’re a spread team, and they have a lot athletes,” Dougherty said. “They should be pretty good, and they’re really fast, too. We just have to make sure we execute.” Following the home game against Diamond Ranch, Enterprise hits the road for three consecutive weeks against Milford, Millard and Parowan. The Wolves then face South Sevier on Sept. 19 and Grand on Sept. 26. After a one-game road trip against San Juan on Oct. 3, the Wolves face North Sevier at home Oct. 10 before finishing the regular season Oct. 16 at Beaver. OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parents need to "play offense" - to capitalize on the impressionable years of childhood by instilling in their sons the antecedents of character. Their assignment during two brief decades will be to trasform their boys from immature and flighty youngsters into honest, caring men who will be respectful of women, loyal and faithful in marriage, keepers of commitments, strong and decisive leaders, good workers, and secure. And of course, the ultimate goal for people of faithis to give each child understanding of scripture and a lifelong passion of Jesus Christ. This is, I believe. the most important responsibility for those of us who have been entrusted with the careand Nurturance of children.

Christmas In Elma!!

We left for WA the 13th of December - I barely made it to Seattle to hand the kids over to my Dad and catch a flight to Atlanta where I would join Trav for his company Christmas Party the next day. Trav and I had a fun get away and were able to do a little Christmas shopping. We stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday and flew back to Seattle Sunday morning where we stayed until January 3rd - We were able to catch a Elma Boys Basketball game. The boys thought it was really cool looking at all the family(uncles & aunts) names on the walls before you entered the Gym doors. Michael and I went and Chatted with Coach Nadau one afternoon. It was so fun spending time with family and friends
