Fall is here and time is flying right before my eyes. We love getting our missionary mail every MOnday. Travis is loving Montana. Here is one of his weekly letters:
This week was awesome....General Conference is great as it always is!
But on your mission you seem to appreciate conference so much more and
seem to pay a little bit more attention! People always ask what was
the best talk!? But there is always something you can learn from every
talk! Whether the Prophet is speaking or the 70 they all felt prompted
to speak about there certain subjects! Dieter F. Uchtdorf talked about
how simple the gospel is and it made me think! The gospel is very
simple it's us that make it seem hard to understand! And being a
missionary when your teaching a discussion you may think that it's
tough!! The spirit is the ultimate teacher! Missionaries are just
there to help them! I remember my first week out... I was teaching the
restoration! And I probably read the first vision about 3 times that
morning not knowing that I would be teaching it later that day!
Anyways I finally get to the part where Joseph Smith describes it
saying I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the
brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon
me. …
“When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness
and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of
them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the
other--This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!” And for some reason I felt
that as if I didn't need to look down... I had it memorized! And after
I read it off I was amazed that I had it memorized! The Holy Ghost
will put the words into your mouth as you speak! Listening to the
investigators is key! Teaching to their needs! Earlier this week we
were teaching the Hammonds which are 2 people that are about 60 years
old! We had this lesson planned but we didn't teach any of it... We
taught to the needs of them! Anyways 2nd transfer almost over! Crazy
to see how fast time flies! There is an Elder in my district named
Elder Allen... From Mississippi! He's about 6'7 and super good
basketball player and can throw down like no other! It's fun on
preparation days to play ball against him! I always make fun of him
because he seriously acts like he's black! He's from the coast!
Anyways this week was an awesome week!! Hope all of you enjoyed
conference and enjoyed your week!! Love you all!! 😁

ENTERPRISE – Michael Dougherty contributed a punt return for a touchdown, and quarterback Brandell Shumway scored four total touchdowns to lead the Enterprise Wolves over the Parowan Rams on Friday, 39-6.
It used to be a region rivalry, but is now separated with Enterprise in 2A and Parowan in 1A. The Rams played it that way by holding the Wolves back before the second half blowout.
Parowan's Brenen Rowley connected with receiver Hunter Little on a 20-yard fade to the end zone, and that cut the lead to 13-6 in favor of Enterprise with 5:47 to go until halftime.
Enterprise scored the first two touchdowns — a 50-yard TD pass from Shumway to Jayson Holt down the sideline, followed two minutes later by the 85-yard punt return for a touchdown by Dougherty.
The senior Dougherty raced to the end zone for the Wolves after fielding the punt at his own 15-yard line. The Enterprise blockers set up a wall on the left side, and Dougherty zipped down the side of it with only the Parowan punter to beat.
"I saw one guy and had to beat him," Dougherty said. "The punter was the one left. I saw my guys blocking well, and it was off to the races."
After halftime, the Rams and Wolves traded turnovers. At the 7:41 mark, senior Cole Stratton recovered a fumble and returned it to the Parowan 12-yard line. That set up an abbreviated drive where Shumway rushed into the end zone from 1 yard out to make the score 19-6.
The defense and special teams stepped into the highlight reel for Enterprise with the heroics of Brady Tullis and Jaylon Gardner. Tullis and Gardner sacked Parowan's Rowley together to set up fourth down, and Tullis followed that with a blocked punt and recovery at the Parowan 34-yard line.
Starting the drive on Parowan's side of the field again, Shumway launched a pass down field to Kaleb Nay, who didn't have a Ram defender within 10 yards of him. Nay scored on the touchdown reception to give Enterprise a 25-6 lead at 2:59 in the third quarter.
Shumway scored one more time as the clock ran out in the third quarter, a 40-yard quarterback keeper sprint for a 32-6 lead. Finally, Stratton came in to play at QB in the fourth quarter and scored on a fake pitch option play from 26 yards out to make it 39-6.
"The coaches talked to us at halftime and made adjustments with the blocking to help the line," Shumway said. "We played with more intensity in the second half, and once we started hitting more the sideline got pumped, and then the receivers made catches."
Enterprise hosts North Summit next week, and Parowan hosts Altamont .
