Big Trav turns "39" in February...on to March

Trav Sr. turned 39 in February - we had fun watching the AA State basketball tournament in Richfield, Utah. We are so thankful for this man in our lives. He makes the world a happier, more fun place to be.

A few weeks ago we went up North to hang with Trav over the weekend...

February 3, 2012 - Tanner turned 12

To Celebrate Tanner's Birthday we went to St. george for the day
and met up with his cousin and buddy Samson.

Per Tanner's request we went to the "Brick Oven" - had some yummy pizza and pasta.
Salad and Pasta Bars

We also went and saw Mission Impossible 4~

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Poster
Tanner is one special son~he's sure of what he wants in life and isn't persuaded easy by others opinions. He's smart and witty like his dad. The other day I was sitting by his 6th grade teacher at a ball game and she told me how cute it was of Tanner that day at school to reach out to the "new kid" and include him so he didn't feel alone. I love that stuff~he's so handsome and compassionate ~ Never thinks about himself first~ he's a good sharer, communicater, and friend.
He loves to read "The Book of Mormon" and often find him kneeling in prayer. Just became a Deacon - I know he will take those responsibilities serious. He had fun playing football and basketball this year and will be a full on BOY Scout. Tans, love ya forever - not sure how we lucked out with these 4 boys but we sure are enjoying them:)

To top Tanner's Birthday off we went to a Trav's game in Beaver, Utah - The varsity ended up winning in overtime by 2 points - Trav Jr. and another freshman suited up with the varsity boys ~ Nice way to end the evening.....

Superman....

Michael invited a bunch of friends over again this year to celebrate his "14th" Birthday. What can I say about Michael?? Right now he keeps busy being the manager for the High School Basketball team - It's been a very cool experience to be right there with the team and see what they do in different situations. After attending the HS practices he practices with the 7th & 8th grade team. He gets up at 6:00 four days a week to weight lift and speed train. He has moved on from deacons to being a teacher and was just released as the Deacons Quorum President. He works hard in the classroom and helps those around him. He has always been very driven and works hard to accomlish his goals. Still remember the day he was born - just a day before my Birthday. He just signed up for seminary next year - yep, a big freshman. keep up the good work....

January Joys!!!!

.....because just being together is enough!!

..always love the holidays and the spirit they bring tp our home. The middle of December I had a little gettaway with the girls. My sister, mom, niece(kadin) and I went to Salt Lake for the weekend and attended "Time Out For Women". Had a great time listening to wonderful speakers and spending time with the gals.

Here is a collage of pictures from Christmas morning - So, fun to have my parents with us. The boys were cute and grateful for their gifts...the best gift was just being together as a family. Tanner took the time to buy special gifts at the school"store" we were surprised Christmas morning when he brought a humble gift out for each of us....he's thoughtful and will make the BEST husband and dad like Trav Sr.

The boys are pretty much clones of their dad - they love to hang out with eachother. I love the way Trav is close with his sons and always keeps them close to him.

The picture below is of Christmas EVE - It's always fun to have my sister's family to hang out with and really special we had my parents here...

We brought in the New Year at my sister's house - Played games and ate lots of yummy food.

During Christmas break Trav Jr. was invited to a basketball tourney in Wayne County Utah - about 3 hours from Enterprise. We enjoyed wacthing Trav play ball, Michael keep stats and lounging around in a hotel room for a few days - does it get better? Below is at half-time of one of Trav's games. Aiden was choosen to go down on the court and win a prize if he made the shot. The crowd cheered and stood to their feet when the ball went in the hoop. He loves to tag along with us to all the games and ask me pretty much every morning if his basketball game is "tomorrow".....he prepares his shoes, socks, jersey and water bottle sometimes 3 or 4 days before he plays ....he has watched his dad pack suitcases and get ready for business trips way too many times:)

Happy 15th Travis Jr.

Another year older - 15 years old, can you even believe it?? Trav turned 15 on December 8th. He had a game down in St. George - was 9 of 12 from the foul line...he ended up fouling out with 2 minutes to go
but what a way to celebrate the day. We went out to Sushi after his game..then to Walmart to pick out a gift with the gift card Nana and Papa sent...reminds me so much of his dad - great leader...so helpful - Still remember the day he was born - it was Christmas time...living in Elma....we were so grateful to have a son & the sweet spirit you always have brought into our home. Trav was asked by the varsity coach to travel with the varsity team to Nevada this weekend for a tournament...we love watching you grow...love when you pick Aiden up and hold him in your arms...Love ya Forever & thanks for BEING YOU!!

OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parents need to "play offense" - to capitalize on the impressionable years of childhood by instilling in their sons the antecedents of character. Their assignment during two brief decades will be to trasform their boys from immature and flighty youngsters into honest, caring men who will be respectful of women, loyal and faithful in marriage, keepers of commitments, strong and decisive leaders, good workers, and secure. And of course, the ultimate goal for people of faithis to give each child understanding of scripture and a lifelong passion of Jesus Christ. This is, I believe. the most important responsibility for those of us who have been entrusted with the careand Nurturance of children.

Christmas In Elma!!

We left for WA the 13th of December - I barely made it to Seattle to hand the kids over to my Dad and catch a flight to Atlanta where I would join Trav for his company Christmas Party the next day. Trav and I had a fun get away and were able to do a little Christmas shopping. We stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday and flew back to Seattle Sunday morning where we stayed until January 3rd - We were able to catch a Elma Boys Basketball game. The boys thought it was really cool looking at all the family(uncles & aunts) names on the walls before you entered the Gym doors. Michael and I went and Chatted with Coach Nadau one afternoon. It was so fun spending time with family and friends
