Dear Sister Dougherty,
I just wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed working with your son in our ward. I have had the wonderful opportunity to work along side our missionaries when they have appointments with our sisters. Elder Dougherty(Michael) is a hard working missionary and has truly touched many lives here and has opened doors to many sisters who have been inactive for years. His testimony is firm in the gospel and his ability to answer hard gospel related questions has been inspiring! You have raised a wonderful young man. His hard work and dedication do not go unnoticed by many and especially by our Father in Heaven. Thank you for sharing him with us. Does he have any special treats he likes from home or a favorite meal? We'd like to do something nice for him.
Thank you!

First off I want to say thank you for having such an awesome son(Travis)! In the last 3 weeks, I've gotten more pictures of my Elder than almost his entire 7 months! Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration...but pretty close! Sister Nikkie, (one of the medical missionaries) told me your Elder is big on pictures! I'm really big on receiving them, so yay! I want to apologize in advance if your Elder has a hard week with mine. We had to have the mission president tell him his grandpa was being put on hospice yesterday, and probably wouldn't make it more than a few days. Our elder has taken time, (I hope with permission) to emai us a little here and there for updates and to give his grandpa his love and gratitude. I've reminded him to stay focused and to help others have an eternal family like ours. He told me he's good and staying focused and they are doing well. So that made me hope that he would handle this well. I just felt that as we do have this Facebook connection, that I should share this with you. I hope you and your family are well. And again, thank you for raising a son who likes pictures!!!
