Happy Mother's Day...

Just got home from a great day at church and wanted to write a little about my beautiful mother while everything is fresh in my mind.
My mom is such a incredible women. She grew up on a farm in Eastern Oregon and was the 2nd child of 10 - first daughter! My mom has always been a great example to me. A few things I remember when I was younger was driving all the way to Vale(her home town) from Sandhallow, Idaho (where my family was living at the time) to attend a hometown basketball game. I was probably 5 0r 6 at the time. I still remember the crowd roaring and the band playing. I still had uncles in HS playing ball and my aunt was one of the cheerleaders at the time. My mom instilled in me the power of family - togetherness....being loyal. My mom was the kind of gal that when someone was falling on hard times...she was there to pull them up. My mom isn't a gossiper. If she has something to say she will tell the person straight up. She is extremley positive and a very hard worker. She just turned 66 this year and does cirlces around most. She often took time for the teaching moment - baring her testimony and testifiying of the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. She taught me the value of hard work and the value of prayer...that I could turn to my Heavenly Father anytime..anywhere and he would listen. She taught me the power of forgivness and often said sorry when she felt she had done wrong.
My mom always put things in a spritual frame of mind - that everyone is unique....needed... and has something to offer the world that knowone else can do. She is a very compassionate but tough/firm lady....she is kind and loving and strives to do good daily. I'm thankful to her for providing me with the BEST of friends..... Mark, Kelli Matthew and Luke. For giving me life...the greatest gift of all.

This picture was taken when my mom was a senior in HS. She was
the homecoming Queen..I always remember as a young girl thinking
this picture was so cool -

Really, you don't to have to look farther than your mom (or dad) to understand why you are as wonderful as you are!

Your Mom is a warm memory for me as she was an AWESOME Stake YW's president and seminary teacher of mine.

Always thankful my family crossed paths with yours :)

OUR FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Parents need to "play offense" - to capitalize on the impressionable years of childhood by instilling in their sons the antecedents of character. Their assignment during two brief decades will be to trasform their boys from immature and flighty youngsters into honest, caring men who will be respectful of women, loyal and faithful in marriage, keepers of commitments, strong and decisive leaders, good workers, and secure. And of course, the ultimate goal for people of faithis to give each child understanding of scripture and a lifelong passion of Jesus Christ. This is, I believe. the most important responsibility for those of us who have been entrusted with the careand Nurturance of children.

Christmas In Elma!!

We left for WA the 13th of December - I barely made it to Seattle to hand the kids over to my Dad and catch a flight to Atlanta where I would join Trav for his company Christmas Party the next day. Trav and I had a fun get away and were able to do a little Christmas shopping. We stayed Thursday, Friday and Saturday and flew back to Seattle Sunday morning where we stayed until January 3rd - We were able to catch a Elma Boys Basketball game. The boys thought it was really cool looking at all the family(uncles & aunts) names on the walls before you entered the Gym doors. Michael and I went and Chatted with Coach Nadau one afternoon. It was so fun spending time with family and friends
