As last year’s first round of the 2A boys state basketball playoffs went, the Enterprise Wolves weren’t the same team without Justin Prisbrey on the floor and lost to Waterford.
One year later, Prisbrey made all the difference and helped Enterprise advance to the second round.
Prisbrey scored 27 points, while Jake Jones and Travis Dougherty added 13 apiece as the Region 13 champion Wolves beat North Summit 76-66 on Saturday in the matchup played at Orem High.
Dougherty and Jones combined to hit five of Enterprise’s eight 3-pointers in the victory.
“Travis made some huge 3-pointers,” Enterprise head coach Larry Shurtliff said. “(North Summit) collapsed their defense on Justin and we made our foul shots toward the end.
“This is state championship basketball. Everyone just left it all on the court. This taught the boys to live for the moment because you never know what’s going to happen.”
Enterprise (16-7) advanced to the 2A championship quarterfinals for the first time since 2010 and will face Merit Academy — a 60-48 winner over Grand — on Thursday at 11:10 a.m. at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield.
